Honestly so happy with my new eyebrows! I used to spend forever drawing them on every morning because of years of over-plucking. Now, 9 months later, they look totally full and natural. It's easily the best thing I've ever done for myself.
Eyebrow Transplant Procedure
Step by Step
1Consultation and Preparation
The doctor assesses your face, designs your ideal brow shape, determines graft count, and performs blood tests to ensure you're ready for the procedure.
2Donor Site Preparation
Before the procedure starts, the donor area (typically behind the ear or scalp) is disinfected. Local anesthesia is administered to numb both the donor and recipient areas. A pressurized device may be used to reduce pain and increase patient comfort.
3Extraction & Opening canals
Using advanced microsurgical tools, individual hair follicles are carefully harvested from the donor area. Then, tiny channels are opened in the recipient eyebrow area with fine sapphire blades to ensure natural angle and density.
4Graft Implantation
The extracted follicles are implanted into the prepared channels using precision forceps. The entire implantation process can take several hours and is performed with close attention to symmetry, angle, and hair direction for a natural look.

5/5 Stars — Exceptional care from start to finish! My experience has been nothing short of fantastic. I was looked after throughout the whole journey, right from the initial consultation all the way through to the aftercare service. Flying to a different country for a procedure can be daunting, but the whole experience put me at ease, which is exactly what you want. The team has been brilliant at providing very useful information and help whenever I've needed it, including constant check-ins to see how I'm getting on and to provide feedback on my progress. During the surgery itself, I was looked after exceptionally well. The medical team kept me updated throughout the procedure about what was happening, continuously checking to make sure I was doing well and seeing if I needed anything. I'm really looking forward to seeing my results in the upcoming months. The whole experience was excellent, and I couldn't recommend them enough for their professionalism, guidance, and dedicated support!

An eyebrow transplant - also called an eyebrow hair transplant or eyebrow implants - relocates healthy hair follicles from the donor area at the back of the scalp to the eyebrow region. Each follicle is carefully implanted into tiny incisions, following your natural eyebrow direction and angle.
Unlike traditional hair transplants that may require thousands of grafts, eyebrow procedures typically need only 200–500 grafts. This makes it faster and less invasive. You can even cover the donor area with your hair, so there’s no visible change in appearance during recovery.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and typically takes about 2–4 hours.
If you are in generally good health and want fuller or better-shaped brows, you may be a candidate for an eyebrow hair transplant. Suitability depends on your medical situation, donor-hair quality and the underlying cause of eyebrow loss. This is assessed at consultation rather than assumed. It is commonly suitable for patients with:
Thin or uneven eyebrows due to genetics
Hair loss caused by trauma, burns, or accidents
Over-plucking, threading, or waxing damage
Hormonal changes or medical treatments like chemotherapy
Scarring or alopecia affecting the brow area

Eyebrow transplant, tattooing or microblading — what's the difference?
They do different things. Microblading and eyebrow tattooing apply pigment to the skin, so they change how the brow looks without adding hair and need repeating as the pigment fades. An eyebrow transplant adds your own growing hair, giving the brow the texture and dimension of real hair.
Which option suits you depends on how much brow hair you still have, the result you want and how permanent you want it to be.
How long do eyebrow transplants last?
Transplanted eyebrow hairs are your own. Once the follicles establish in the brow, they continue to grow there. Because the hair comes from the scalp, it generally keeps the characteristics of its donor site, including a long-term growth pattern that may require occasional trimming.
What's the downtime after procedure?
Downtime is short. Most patients are up and about straight away, with small crusts around the grafts and possibly mild swelling in the brow area during the first days. You will receive clear instructions on washing, sleeping position and what to avoid while the area settles.
Who is the ideal candidate for eyebrow transplantation?
While most patients make it to the final list of candidates for this procedure, there are specific considerations before giving the go-ahead. First, the patient’s medical condition needs to be stable to avoid any complications during the procedure. Some medical conditions that cause eyebrow loss, such as alopecia areata or frontal fibrosing alopecia, wherein oral medication provides good results, may not require transplantation. Hence, the doctor will judge candidacy based on thorough medical history or a biopsy. Hence, patients having scanty eyebrows due to genetics, overplucking, trauma, etc., are suitable candidates.
FixedAbroad also performs facial hair restoration for other areas, including beard transplant procedures using the same graft-by-graft approach.
Will I need to shave my eyebrows?
No. Your eyebrows are not shaved. Only a small area of the donor site at the back of the scalp is trimmed, and it can usually be covered by surrounding hair.
Do transplanted eyebrows keep growing?
Yes. Because they’re taken from your scalp, transplanted eyebrow hairs grow like scalp hair — and may need occasional trimming. While all hair grows at a similar speed (about 0.25–0.3 mm per day), eyebrow hairs have a shorter growth cycle, typically around 30 days.
Can I get this procedure if I have alopecia?
Possibly. It depends on the type of alopecia, whether it is active, and whether the donor area is healthy enough to supply grafts. Some conditions that cause eyebrow loss may respond to medical treatment and may not need a transplant. A consultation and, where needed, medical assessment will confirm whether the procedure is appropriate.
Are there risks with an eyebrow transplant?
As with any minor surgical procedure, there are considerations to weigh. Not every graft survives, and a smaller follow-up session may sometimes be used to refine density or shape. Because the brow is small and highly visible, angle and design matter more than volume. Your doctor will explain the risks that apply to your case at consultation.
When will I see the final result?
Transplanted brow hairs shed in the first weeks, which is expected. New growth then appears gradually over the following months rather than all at once, so the brow fills in progressively. Your doctor will explain what timeline is realistic for your case.
